Fly Fishing for Kennebec Striped Bass with Woody and Ben

A combination of breaking fish and casting to structure provided a great morning on the Kennebec. The river was full of small herring which we were able to match very effectively with flies.

Kennebec River Estuary / Eastern Casco Bay Fishing Report 6-20-2019

Fishing Conditions: Good and improving. Schools of stripers are entering the estuary daily. They have not settled into their usual patterns, but they are now much easier to find. Surface action is taking place quite often.

"Today we caught somewhere around 40 striped bass up to 24" and, we also caught 5 20-22" shad!"

Snook on Fly w/ Capt. Mike F.

Capt. Mike Faulkingham joined me for a day of snook fly fishing this past week. We had great action in Bull and Turtle Bays despite 15kt winds. Great job Capt Mike! By the way, Mike hammered them on his version of an all white snake fly. I'll be tying up some of them for sure! I'm off to Maine on business this weekend but will return to guide on April 16th - May 8th. Can't wait to get back to the Harbor! - Capt. Dave
