"I plan on spending some time chasing baby bluefins this summer."
year as long as you book morning trips, those dog day afternoons are tuff so fish early and save the outlet mall shopping for after lunch! Gas prices are out of site but I'm going to hold to last year's prices of $275 & $375 for my striper / bluefish trips. Shark trips are $525. For those who are interested I plan on spending some time chasing baby bluefins this summer. Weather permitting we can head out into the Gulf of Maine and see if we can get into some 20-40 pound tuna action. This is pretty wild stuff!
The Obsession and the Obsession II will both be back in service this season. The Obsession will get new electronics and helm seats. The Obsession II will remain about the same with some minor repairs and improvements. Many of you have been hearing good reports about Orvis' new Zero Gravity fly rods. I'll have a couple Zero G's available for you to try out. They're sweet rods that are light in the hand, easy to cast, accurate and tuff. I'll have new Orvis spinning rods onboard too. I'm also working on a couple new

Give me a call or drop me an e-mail soon if you are looking to book a June or July date. My calendar is filling up. worked well too. We found that using big bucktails and Storm Wildeyes we could get down below the little guys and catch some decent fish. Bluefish didn't return to the river in the same numbers as 2004 or 2003. The blues that did arrive were mixed in with schools of stripers making for some surprises now and then. Sharking was slightly better last season. I found larger numbers of sharks closer to shore (only 10-15 miles out). We caught more threshers and poorbeagles last season too which was a nice change.
We're going to offer something new this season. Non-fishing trips. That's right, we will be running afternoon cruises on the Obsession for up to 4 guests. We will be doing a lighthouse and lobster trap hauling cruise and an inland waterway cruise to Boothbay Harbor. Both trips are 3 hours long, include beverages and snacks for $225. Just as with our fishing trips these are private charters and have to be booked in advance. More info can be found on http://www.obsessioncharters.com/ecotourism.htm
