Stripers from 24” to 48” long and weighing as much as 30 pounds spend the summer in the waters of the Kennebec River Watershed and surrounding beaches and islands.

Striped Bass show up in good numbers usually during late May here in the Midcoast area of Maine. The first to arrive are the smaller, younger fish. They show up in vast schools as the water temperature reaches the mid 50’s. These first arrivals are full of spunk and eat everything put in front of them. 12 pound class spinning gear and 6-8 wt. fly rods are the weapons of choice. Lures and flies vary from the smallest juvenile baitfish imitations to full sized offerings that mimic 12” Alewives and Herring.

By mid June (and during the Kennebec catch and release season) the bigger Bass show up. Stripers from 24” to 48” long and weighing as much as 30 pounds spend the summer in the waters of the Kennebec River Watershed and surrounding beaches and islands. We fish with 20 pound class spinning gear and 9 - 12 wt. fly rods for these bigger fish.

By early to mid July the Bluefish make their presence known along Midcoast Maine. Our Bluefish tend to run from 10—16 pounds and are over 30” long in some cases. Blues are strong fish that make powerful runs and test the skill of the most seasoned angler. Wire leaders are a must as these bruisers have a mouth full of razor sharp teeth.

Our trips include all the needed tackle and gear but feel free to bring your own along if you wish. Soft drinks and snacks are provided. Please bring a light jacket / raincoat, sunscreen and sunglasses. If at all possible, please do not where black soled shoes or work boots, they really mark up the deck of the boat, thank you.

Morning trips depart at 4:30—5:00 AM and return around noon at a cost of $400. Afternoon trips depart at 2:00 PM and return around 6:00 PM. with a cost of $300. These prices are per trip (not per person). FMI > on Reservations
