Spotted Sea Trout

troutThe expansive grass flats of Charlotte Harbor holds countless numbers of spotted sea trout. These fun-to-catch fish will hit about anything you throw at them. We use soft plastics and top water lures on spinning gear and a variety of subsurface and top water flies on speckled trout. They have a soft mouth so once hooked you have to be light handed to get them to the boat. We fish grass flats in 1-4 feet of water while poling or using a trolling motor. In cooler weather we find trout stacked up in deep holes at creek mouths and mangrove cuts. Trout are a great back up species for those days the tarpon, snook or redfish don't cooperate. Liberal bag and size limits make trout a favorite fish to bring home for supper.
Obsession Sportfishing Charters offers you a choice of guided trips:
-Four hour morning redfish, snook, sea trout, $375 includes snacks and drinks.
-Six hour redfish, snook, sea trout, $475 includes on-board lunch.
-Eight hour redfish, snook, sea trout, $575 includes on-board lunch.

Our charters include all the needed tackle and gear but feel free to bring your own along if you wish.  Soft drinks and snacks are provided.  Please bring a light jacket or raincoat, sunscreen and sunglasses.  If at all possible please do not wear black soled shoes or boots; they really mark up the deck of the boat, thank you.
How to Find Obsession Charters in SW Florida: Due to changing weather and fishing conditions we use one of several Charlotte Harbor boat launches.  After booking your charter it is best to call or e-mail Capt. Dave a day or two prior to your trip to finalize where to meet.
