Brett Johnson and his 10 year old son Lance from Massachusetts  joined Obsession Sportfishing charters for a morning of light tackle striped bass fishing on Labor Day. Though the lure fishing was tuff we managed to find some nice stripers on the ledges using live eels.

This was day two of stiff northerly winds from a strong high pressure area.  The striped bass were off the feed but we persisted both on fly fishing and light tackle gear. Nat Gardner and his fishing buddy Rob joined Obsession Charters Thursday morning for a few hours of fly fishing for striped bass on the Kennebec. Even though an approaching cold front shut the fishing down by mid-morning we managed to land a few fish.

Last Sunday the Gulf of Maine shark fishing was hot ! 22 hookups on fly, spinning and 30# stand up gear. We boated and released 12+ blue sharks including this 5 foot male on fly rod by Brad Osborn. There's weeks of great offshore action to come. Book your trip today.

Brad Osborn, Teunis VanDeGraf and Ron Hamel saw some incredible blue shark action on this picture perfect day offshore in the gulf of Maine. 23 hook ups on fly, 30 pound stand up and heavy spinning gear in 5 hours! We boated around a dozen of them with the largest being a 10' total length big female weighing an estimated 180 -200 pounds!
